QUICK & EASY STUFFED PEPPERS

1 1/2 lbs. ground chuck

1 box Spanish rice (Zataran's is great)

4 green peppers

1/2 cup chopped onion

1 tbsp garlic powder

1 can tomato soup

4 slices of cheese

Place cleaned and cored peppers in 1 inch of water. Bring to a boil and leave in for 10 minutes. Remove and pat dry when cool.

Brown meat, drain off grease. Salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat and mix in prepared Spanish rice, garlic and onion.

Fill cored and green peppers.

Add a slice of cheese to each.

In same pan used to brown meat, blend in 1 can of tomato soup and 1/2 can of water. Pour over peppers.

Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes.

The concept of being frugal is such a simple one: save money. How do we do that? Actually, it is quite easy and it takes the one thing we all have but often don't use: common sense. Being frugal takes thought. Turn lights off when not in use. Change light bulbs to energy saving ones. Reuse the things you have. Get creative. Find new uses for old things.

Have weeds in your yard? Spray them with vinegar and within 2-3 days, you'll discover they've died! Live in an area with snakes? Put moth balls around your yard, it wards them off. You know all those plastic grocery bags you get from the store? Use them as garbage bags. Print coupons from the internet? After cutting out the coupon, use the left over paper as note paper. Use rechargeable batteries. The savings are amazing. Use the computer? Obviously, you do! So, let it do double duty and charge your batteries, saving electricity!
