SHOCK Coffee Review and Gift Basket Giveaway
Ok, how many people drink coffee in the morning to get going? Raise your hands. Ok, hands down.
How many people drink coffee ALL DAY LONG? Show of hands? Ok, put them down.
I LOVE COFFEE! I used to drink it all the time; now, we have it only in the morning. Sometimes, though, it just isn't quite enough to kick me in to gear. For these times, there is SHOCK COFFEE. (Decaf-ers, you may exit stage left.)
Sleep is overrated! I was tickled at the package, itself. I opened it up and found….*drumroll*:
One bag of 13oz Energy Blend Ground Coffee
Two bags of 2.75 Organic Blend Ground Coffee
Four cans of Shock Triple Mocha
Four cans of Shock Triple Latte
Three bags of Shock-A-Lots – chocolate covered coffee beans
One Shock Travel Mug
One Shock Coffee Ceramic Mug
One Shock "Sleep Is Overrated" T-Shirt
One Shock "Sleep Is Overrated" Hat
You could just smell the aroma as it penetrated the box! (Thank goodness they don't make coffee perfume…..).
The next morning, it was time to give it a whirl. Opening the bag, the aroma alone tells you it is great coffee. Very pleasing in smell and the grind was right to brew it in an automatic coffee maker.
I waited. And waited. A watched coffee maker never brews. FINALLY! I fixed a cup and savored the flavor….nice blend of flavor, full, rich and smooth with the right amount of acidity. Then, I got ready for "the kick".
I waited. I finished my first cup and had my customary second cup. And waited. Nothing. "OK", I thought, not too much to this shock thing. Well…..
I felt great! I cleaned the living room, swept the floor, cleaned the bathroom, did the dishes, cooked lunch and then stood back and thought WOW! I didn't feel jittery, I didn't feel uncomfortable, I just felt – great. Energized.
Thinking it might be only a glitch, I tried the next morning. Same thing. I had already cleaned the living room, so I cleaned the bedroom. Did some more dishes. Cooked a gourmet - it takes 2 hours to prepare – lunch. Again, I felt good.
The best part? I loved the taste! Caffeine increases circulation and heart rate, making you more alert, possibly more focused and feel like your brain is super-powered and geared for action. Yes, it's a great state of mind for getting through a difficult day!
I decided to try the latte. The blended creamy drinks are similar to the blended Starbucks Frappuccino, only better. They have a slightly thicker/richer/creamier consistency and come in an 8oz. can. The company states that there are approximately 120-160mg. of caffeine in each 8oz. can. For comparison, the standard 8 oz. cup of java usually contains 45-70 mg, and a 2 oz. Double Espresso has between 45-100 mg. So if you want a punch, pick up one of these!
Next? The Shock-A-Lots. A chocolate covered coffee bean. OK. They have a candy shell over the chocolate, with a coffee bean in the middle. I've actually had chocolate covered coffee beans, which were bor-ing! These were anything but! I started eating more, not because I wanted a kick but because it was just that good a candy. And yes, it did give me a nice pick-me-up.Overall? I would get this coffee just for the taste, with the added caffeine a nice bonus.
My new coffee cup is the ceramic mug and my "all day long" cup is now the aluminum travel mug.
